Convert MP3, CD Audio Songs to iPhone Ringtones
Wondering how to create your own iPhone ringtones (.m4a files)? If you are a Mac user then lucky you. There is a free tool to create and convert iPhone ringtone from .mp3 and CD audio files. This simple Mac program is named MakeiPhoneRingtone. MakeiPhoneRingtone is a Mac software allows users to convert favorite songs to iPhone-compatible ringtones. So lets go to the steps forward:
Steps to Make your Own iPhone Ringtones
1- Download MakeiPhoneRingtone tool [Mac only]
2- Open menus: [iTunes] > [Preferences] or use “Command + Comma” keys.
3- Open the [General] tab and click the [Import Settings] button.
4- Choose [AAC Encoder] from the [Import Using] field, and choose [iTunes Plus] quality from [Setting] for the best quality.

5- Now choose the song you want to convert as iPhone ringtone. Right click and choose [Create AAC] version from the pop up menu.
6- You can also access this option from [Advanced – Create AAC Version] menu.
7- iPhone ringtone is in conversion progress. Right click on the converted song and choose [Get Info] from the pop up menu.
8- Choose [Options] tab and set the Start and Stop Time to fit the 40 seconds duration.
FYI: The free version of MakeiPhoneRingtone limits you tp 40 second ringtone duration.
9- Set set “Start Time” to 0:00 and “Stop Time” to 0:39
10- Repeat the [Create AAC Version] process for other song parts.
11- Now it is time to make an .m4a iPhone ringtone format. Now right click on the item and choose [Show in Finder].
12- Open MakeiPhoneRingtone and drag that short AAC Version (with the .m4a extension) to the app.
13- When it is done. Check at Ringtones folder in iTunes. You’ll see your newly created iPhone ringtone there.
14- Successfully created iPhone .m4a ringtone. You can simply repeat the process for other songs.

Don’t forget to sync your iPhone device with your iTunes so that your newly created iPhone ringtone(s) can be directly applied for your favorite and personalized ringtones. [via]
